Innovation is at the heart of new operating theatre
Innovation is at the heart of new operating theatre

Integration and innovation is at the heart of the $632 million Stage 2 redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital. The new state-of-the-art clinical services building enhances access to care through new ways of working and additional equipment that will transform healthcare in the Macarthur region.
At the frontline of innovation is the new hybrid operating theatre at Campbelltown Hospital. Seamlessly integrating angiography, CT and ultrasound in a single suite, the two-room space will harness the power of imaging to guide operations. Images and scans made during an operation will be displayed on large screens in the theatre, helping inform medical care and diagnoses. This major advancement in our theatres and medical imaging space provides clinicians opportunity to develop and perform innovative and minimally invasive procedures, reducing patient recovery time.
The expanded space connects to the previous theatres via a dedicated link bridge and is in close proximity to high-speed lifts that go directly to the new rooftop helipad and other key clinical areas. The increased operating theatre capacity will meet future demand and enable implementation of new models of care and surgical clinical pathways.
